I have been photographing comets for 13 years (since '85), for the purpose of outer-tail studies. See my surveys of

This necessitates the use of wide-field lenses, & as the result, I have imaged many meteors (along with the comet being studied). For example, during the Hale-Bopp apparition (Jan '97 - May '97), I distinctly remember MANY meteors seen visually at my dark desert sites.

NOTE:

3 years ago (Oct '95), I was photographing Comet DeVico which was in Leo. Ironically, as a prelude to the upcoming '98 Leonid Meteor Storm (?), the wide-field image shows a meteor which seems to have a radiant near Gamma-Leo (as per a Leonid meteor). This, along with the comet & Leo's "sickle" (aka "backward question-mark") over the eastern horizon. See above picture (& below).
