closeup view of East Area equipment "pile" (5 camera cases, 1 G11 case). The haphazard look is the result of breaking out 250 lbs of equipment at night (poor lighting), under time-pressure.

east view @sunrise, with crescent Moon over the Carrizo Plain. The Moon's earthshine phenomena, set against the azure-blue morning sky is a truly remarkable sight. A welcome sight, which allowed me to pause for some relaxation (after 12 straight hours of running meteor-patrol equipment). Then, it was packing up & rushing back to Los Angeles (4 hour drive!). Sleep deprivation (an all nighter), a few car problems (still getting the bugs out of my in-development 4x4): it was *murderous*

I've been working on engineering/fabrication of a new suspension for my 4x4 van (since last June). I only completed the (rear) suspnesion 2 days, before I made the Leonids '98 (300 mile) desert trek. This was the 2nd desert-run, for the Geminid Meteor Shower.
