15+ deg meteor-trail, in Orion (pointing toward M42, cutting through Barnard's Loop). Orion (& Gemini, the radiant) is setting in the west. Note that the crescent moon (& nearby Mars) has risen in the east.

Above Orion, note the red nebulosity in Monoceros (e.g., Rosette Nebula & *faint* nebula around the Conus Nebula). To the left, in Canis Major (with Sirius), IC2177 (aka "Seagull" Nebula). On the right (below), is the familiar "triangle" formed by Taurus, M45 (Pleiades), NGC1499 (California Nebula). On the right (above), is the familiar "pentagonal" star pattern of Auriga (incl Capella).

NOTE: This is the SAME fireball, as recorded with the 8mm camera (see 8mm section), 14mm camera (see 14mm section)

20+ deg meteor-trail, in Auriga. Note that the meteor is headed towards the North-Western horizon, while Orion (& Gemini, the radiant) is setting in the west. Note that the crescent moon (& nearby Mars) are well placed in the South-East, causing some sky illumination
